A must read !!

The web is a wonderful tool, helps you read stuff otherwise you could  hardly lay your hands on.

This is a must read poem, if possible do read the book INVITATION ( a prose containing letters from Oriah Mountain ) click here for a link to her WEBSITE.

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon…
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us to
be careful
be realistic
remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Life of purpose

Makes me wonder what was going on in the mind of G.S.Shivarudrappa when he was penning this master piece. The search one goes through in a lifetime finding answers to many questions that are constantly stirred in the mind is immense. Then there is a moment when effortlessly you just have answers to all questions, when one comes across such a moment (and he/she is a poet at heart) then, one can pen in such marvelous work.

All the paths in life lead you, none holding you back if you experience any set back it exists in your mind. Mind is the wonderful master and the worst slave, the very understanding and the very compelling, the inculpable delinquent. As long as you don't get confused and mix up - all around you is beautiful and sweet. The wise realize everything dwells in oneself and the search beyond is insignificant.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.

Love to me

Happy new year.. Hope 2010 will be all that you hope and pray for...

The remaining parts of Chennai Chronicle will soon arrive, until then hope you might enjoy reading my thoughts about this one all time favorite question of mine, why do girls fall for the wrong guy?Is there some kind of attraction towards the fatal? not alone that, you fall in love with the wrong guy and cry about it, try harder then ever to forget him but in vain. Why does love have to be so complicated?
Is it always the love with the wrong, thats complicated? or are the one's made for each other also experience complicated love? lemme not complicate it with too many questions. Let's try finding some answers here.. Firstly, why do girls fall for wrong guys, the answer would be - with a hope to find the right one - trial and error method i guess... Then why doesn't she dump him once she know's he's not right. cos' they are stupid enough to think that they have the power vested in them to change this wrong guy into their Mr.Right just like in fairy tales. Alas, life is no fairy tale...

Next let's talk about the fatal attraction, i guess it comes very naturally to humans. We are attracted to everything that could kill us, it excites us. Else we wouldn't have snake fighters, wrestlers, formula one racers, sky divers, deep sea divers. What say? so a girl developing liking to a wrong guy and getting into a hollow relationship isn't an impossible task,i say. and hey, if the guy was wrong for the girl what about the vice versa rule?

Love and complications are not as complicated as they seem. I've noticed few simple lovers too i would like to classify them into three categories(if i have left out any category and you would want me to add please let me know about it. ) namely -the lead-follow lover's : here one person leads and the other merely follows ( now who leads and who follows is not an issue) and no problem arises between them. Secondly, there's open lover's : Here it doesn't bother the partner's what each other do in their personal life. They appear understanding and very matured to the outside world. The chances of complications are less in this kinda relationships too. The final one True Lover's :who accept their partner's for what ever they are and both partner's are true to each other ( do we find such people in the world today?? I'm still looking!!)

Don't you think all this simple explanations of complicated love and complicated explanation of simple love is actually ******* .. That's what i feel too. Any person could be right/wrong it all depends on the perspective. Make sure the feelings are genuine from both ends and just love each other, remember to change with time but never change your feelings for one other, you grow old but don't let your love. Most important of all, understand your partner is another human being who has a life, a job, parents, siblings, friends, colleagues, stress, tension, hair fall, weight problem, height problem, fairness problem, allergy, ulcer, cold, fever, throat infection, malaria, cholera, blood pressure, blood sugar, body pain, needs, wants, desires,responsibilities... just like you do!

Life

The path you take
the decisions you make
all the smiles you fake
as the tears within bake
pushing your emotions at stake
turning life into racking ache
beware, be awake
try not to make this mistake
it's one life, live for one's sake
let nothing hold you or shake.

Small towns (First Trip Of This Year !! )

This is the second part of First Trip Of This Year!!...

We reached SriRangam around 10 pm . I had slept all the way so I know nothing as to how we got there. I got up to see a small lane that was flooded with flowers all over. Were we in heaven? I wondered. There were tonnes of flower's of all possible colors around. We got in with our luggage, we were staying at a relatives place, whom I had never met or know (thanks to staying in different towns all life, I only knew 20% of my relatives). As soon as we got in there, we were greeted by everyone in the family. From the 1 year old's to the eldest in the family everyone made sure they spoke to us that was quite strange I mean so many people talking to you like they know all about you. Trying to remind you of moments that you hardly knew. It was an experience in itself.

It was late (10 pm is considered very late in here) and we were served our dinner, again on the banana leaves !! And trust me the taste of the food doubles when served on these tender leaves. The rice, sambar and ghee were such a perfect combination and not to forget the papadams and the pickels. The servings were large and everyone over ate. It was hospitality at it's best. I not only managed to eat full stomach but ate to my heart's content. The tedious journey, food and the nice breeze, now all that I needed was a pillow and warm blanket. I hit the bed and in no time was sleeping all over again.

It was 6 am when I got up the next morning. Everyone was still sleeping and a few snoaring. I wanted to catch the glimpses of the town and the flower market buzzing early in the morning so I took my camera and left on unknown streets. It was cloudy and misty. There was a huge crowd on the street, many people selling and buying the flowers and garlands. I felt more like an alien there but managed to walk through and get into the next lane. Now I had reached the road that led to the temple gopuram of lord Ranganatha. It was still dark, I could see the lighting on the gopuram. Many already visiting the temple. People had beautiful rangoli's in front of their homes. It had started to drizzle and the moment was so perfect. I was all alone on streets of a town I never knew. Seeing new people get along with their lives. I covered my head with the dupatta and went ahead to explore.

Each lane looked simliar, many houses with beautiful rangoli's in front of each. I could see them getting wet in the rain. People were having hot coffee in the small tea stall across the street. And the music from the temple could be heard loud and clear. I walked with a fear of getting lost. The only hope that kept me going was, anyone would guide me back to the flower market. I'm not sure was I being gutsy or stupid but I was definetly enjoying the moment with myself. Seeing more similar people and cattles and tea stalls and rangoli's I reached the flower market again by mistake. So I went back home after a good one hour roaming around.

Everyone was ready, I took a quick bath and had the famous tamilnadu Idli's and sambar with good tasty chutney. We visited the temple amidst the huge crowd of people who were there to get lord's blessing's on the auspicious day of "Vaikunta Ekadashi" just like us. It was 1 pm by the time we were done with the temple. We then had a heavy lunch and left SriRangam to reach home. On the way we visited a few more temple's and reached home at 2 am in the morning. As I went to bed that night I could smell the flower's and feel the crowd around. It was indeed an unforgettable trip.

Makara Shankramana

Today is Makara Shankranthi, the day when the sun changes it's path to the northwards marking the beginning of "Uttarayana Punyakala". As a child i always enjoyed the festivals, being with my cousins, playing and fooling around, new clothes and fine sweets was the very definition of any festival than. But in later years, curiosity got me to know there was a story behind every festival - a reason as to what this day marks it's significance.

Two reasons stand out when you think why we celebrate Makara Shankranthi. And before we begun, though we call it Makara Shankranthi. It's more aptly "Makara Sankramana."

The first one can be understood in it's very name, Makara (Capricorn ; Sunsign) and Sankramana meaning crossing. This very day Lord Surya who is believed to be moving in his golden chariot (which is believed to having thousands of spokes with magnificient wheels that are driven by 7 horses indicating the 7 colors that combine to form the light) changes his path to the northwards and enters the Makara Rashi (Capricorn Sunsign) from the Kataka Rashi (Cancer Sunsign).

Secondly, India being an Agriculture land (which is true even today, though we are seeing IT & Industrial growth), this marks the rejoycement of the farmers after they have harvested the crop.

This festival is called by many names but the purpose and the rejoycement remains the same.

question maze - 1

Life has its unique ways, you don't know what lies ahead in your own life. You may try to predict but mind it haan... it's only a prediction you can never be sure and say for certain. Thoughts of the mind are always directed towards future when you have a work at hand, your first thought will be - "I shall start it from tomorrow or This will be done the first thing tomorrow in the morning. Well what makes us make plans for a tomorrow that we are not sure of?I say, it's blind belief - Tomorrow has always been there henceforth it shall be there tomorrow again for me to run and implement my plans and make more plans for another uncertain tomorrow. This way we live with the mystery tomorrow in today.

Again my mind rises another question - Is it good or bad to have plans for tomorrow? I say it's  good and why is it good? Let me tell you, practically there could be only two possibilities " There shall be a tomorrow or there shall not be a tomorrow". If there's no tomorrow in your life, supposedly then you have nothing to loose. You made a plan and it didn't work. But if there's a tomorrow in your life than you can work according to your plan that way you have a better structured life.Just imagine a situation where you didn't have a plan and you have stepped into tomorrow - Now you're confused, you don't know what needs to be done. You end up doing random jobs when with a simple plan you could have made a lot of difference in your tomorrow.so either ways it's good to plan that way you'll have a reason to look forward to tomorrow. But there arises a problem when you make a plan for tomorrow and you are desperate and adamant on working out the plan and don't step back even when you've seen it fail miserably several times. If a plan doesn't work then change the route and try to work out the plan goal if that doesn't help too then smartness lies in changing the whole plan and the goal.

My mind has too many questions,"Now how do you decide on the plan and the goals you ought to make for a better tomorrow?" Let me tell you, there's nothing like the PLAN FOR BETTER TOMORROW.You can always make a plan and hope it to work for your betterment.Life could be wicked sometimes (actually you feel most of the times as you forget to take into account all the times when life favoured you and try to count the average and failures of your plans only) it makes you stand like a fool with your foolproof plan. Many a times, you structure plans, work all the possibilities and grow step by step and when you're about to reach the peak, life just changes its plan and ties you up in situations where you need to start from the scratch.

Understanding the games of life is tough. There are many permutations and combinations it employs which we cannot even imagine.Life teases us to play but we never know that each of our move is decided not by us but by Life itself.

Next i'll try to write about then how do men make their own life's?Are there self - made men that should be intresting !

Now I'm making a plan for another tomorrow!!!!

please put in your viewpoint, let's just debate.

P.S. :::: courage doesn't always roar.Sometimes courage is the silent voice at the end of the day saying, "I'll try again tomorrow".

Purpose of Life

The question is not whether we will die ; but how we will live , I believe every creature has a purpose on this earth and henceforth is born , lives and when the purpose is served eventually bids goodbye and the rest is - to each to his understanding.

Death is inevitable, As Bhagavan Bhudha made it known to the lady who pleaded to him to get her dead son back to life - that it was impossible to bring someone back from the dead. just like different
walks of life, Death is important part of our life's.

In this post of mine, I'll try to tell my understanding about death. please feel free to share your thoughts about it too. As it is everyone's final destination no matter what road we have taken during our life's.
According to the SHRIMAD BHAGAVATA - The mind of a dying man, swayed by his own actions and their impressions, thinks intensely on expereinces he had in life, on what he
had seen, heard and passed through. Consequently he feels that he has entered a new body that has manifested by his intense thought, and left the old one. With the coming of the consciousness of the new body, there is complete oblivion of the old body and its history in the world. On account of the intensity of attraction felt for the new body for whatever reason, the memory of the old one is completely effaced. Death means this complete forgetfulness of the old body and its affairs by the Jiva.
