cloudy saturday !!
One whole week of mist and cold and cloudy weather and today was no different. The temperatures have gone down and drizziling through the evening, itz a great day for a long drive..out of the city, no traffic hues and no one to disturb around.well, the moment i stepped out of the house, i saw two college goers - the guy making an effort to hold the girl's hand and shying away, is it the 21 st century or what come on dude she likes you else she wouldn' t be walking beside you all alone on a evening like this, but how do i tell him this? I just passed them wrooming on my activa. In the next corner of the road there was a another couple, who were more comfortable with each other. They walked hand in hand and were sharing a smoke. I went past them, to see many more of these young couples at the CCD hanging around and having good laugh and trying to make the tagline of the CCD ( a lot can happen over coffee ) work.
As i went past all off them , going through DG petrol bunk reaching the mysore road. With not much traffic, the ride was smooth.I could feel the breeze on my face and the drizzle tickling me . I accelarated towards rajarajeshwari arch, hardly any two wheelers on road. I was zooming at 70km/hr now. The clouds were dense couldn't see the sun but the essence of the sunset could be felt, the clouds kissed by the setting sun had turned pink, the yellow and orange ho
rizons looked beautiful. There were no buildings to block my view, the sky, me and the road along with the cool breeze and drizzle.
I kept going, experiencing beauty and feeling heavenly. This wasn't the first time i was on mysore road but it seemed so different today. I felt free like a bird, It was like i was in love all over again.suddenly i had a thought - If I had someone special to share this moment? I'm not sure what i wanted, but in middle of of an adventure on the road i probably wanted more, which was so human of me. A silent smile just grew on my face and was I blushing.. no, no...
A few more kms on the road and i felt so detached and felt totally different person.
my soul was craving for more, now i had reached Bidadi, going past Wonder la. The 4 wheelers racing with me and me determined to keep on going with the same pace. I could see people, different people, all in their own world trying to reach some place or doing some work. The shops on the either side of the road, people carrying on buisness and hens,
chickens, dogs ,the children walking, running and playing along side the road... all I saw on the way.
I had no destination to reach, I just followed the road and waited for it to take me any where. Now, I had been on the road for about 2 hours now.It was dark now and all the vehicles going on high beams, It now had started getting tough to manage with my activa and felt I need to take the road back home. It was getting colder and no drizzle, I drove back on the road feeling good about the ride and being alone on a highway.. I now rememberd the poem - THE HIGHWAY MAN, his life intrested me even more now, full of adventures, going on unknown roads and waiting for the moon light nights to meet his beautiful lover,riding on a black horse and breaking the silence of the night!!
With all these mixed thoughts and a wonderful experience I reached home. Now, the wait for another such adventure was ON.
